Six Sigma

The Six Sigma is the formalized problem solving methodology that applies developed tools and techniques on a business process to achieve breakthrough improvement in meeting your customer needs, minimizing wasted resources and maximizing your profit.

Methodology

The Six Sigma has two key methodologies: DMAIC and DMADV.

DMAIC is used to improve an existing business process:

Define the process improvement goals based on customer needs.

Measure the current process and collect relevant data.

Analyze collected data to verify relationship and causality.

Improve or optimize the process based upon the data analysis.

Control to ensure that any variances are corrected before they result in defects. Continuously measure the process and set up control mechanisms.

DMADV is used to create new product or process.
